Oil Changes in Metairie

Conventional, blend or full synthetic, whatever your car calls for. While it's here, we'll take a look at the rest of the car too.

The right oil for your car

Most newer cars call for synthetic oil in a specific weight, like 0W-20 or 5W-30. Some older cars and trucks still use conventional. The right answer is whatever your owner's manual says, and that's what we follow. Using the wrong oil can affect how the engine runs and can matter if you ever have a warranty claim with the manufacturer.

What's included

  • Drain the old oil and replace the oil filter
  • Refill with the correct type and amount of oil
  • Check the other fluids
  • Look over belts, hoses and wipers while the car is here
  • Reset the oil life monitor if your car has one

If we spot something during the visit, like a leak or a worn belt, we'll let you know. We won't do any extra work without asking you first.

How often?

Follow your owner's manual or the car's oil life monitor. Hot weather, short trips, stop-and-go traffic and towing are all harder on oil, and that's how a lot of us drive around Metairie. If you're not sure what interval is right for your car, ask us when you come in.

Questions we get

How often should I change my oil?

Go by your owner's manual or your car's oil life monitor. Many newer cars on synthetic go several thousand miles between changes, but heat, short trips and towing can shorten that.
