Car Maintenance & Tune-Ups in Metairie
Most big repair bills start as small maintenance items that got pushed back. We help you keep up with your car's schedule so you're not guessing what's due.
Your car already has a schedule
Every car comes with a maintenance schedule from the manufacturer, usually in the owner's manual or the manufacturer's app. It lists what needs doing and when, by miles and by time. We go by that schedule, not a generic list, so you're not paying for work your car doesn't need yet.
Most manuals have two schedules: normal and severe. A lot of people assume they're "normal" drivers. But short trips, stop-and-go traffic on Veterans and Clearview, summer heat, and humidity are all on the severe list. If that sounds like your week, your car may need some services sooner than the normal schedule says.
What a tune-up means on a newer car
Older cars needed points, timing and carburetor adjustments every so often. Newer cars don't. Today a tune-up usually means replacing the spark plugs when they're due, checking the ignition coils, and replacing the engine air filter, plus anything else on the schedule at that mileage. If your car is running rough, losing power or getting worse gas mileage, that's a problem to diagnose, not just a tune-up. See check engine light diagnostics.

Bring what you've got
If you have receipts or a service history, bring them or snap a photo. Tell us the mileage and what was done last. That way we don't repeat something you just paid for somewhere else. If you don't have records, that's fine too. We'll look the car over and tell you what we think is due first.
No surprises
Estimates are free, and you get one in writing before any work starts. If we find something else while the car is here, we call you first. Qualifying repairs carry our 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty, and our ASE-certified technicians do the work. Can't get here during the day? Use the after-hours key drop at 4725 Utica St.

Questions we get
Do I have to go to the dealer to keep my factory warranty?
Generally, no. Federal law says a manufacturer can't void your warranty just because you had maintenance done somewhere other than the dealer. Keep your receipts and follow the schedule in your owner's manual. If a specific repair is covered under warranty, the dealer usually has to do that part.
How often do I need a tune-up?
Go by your owner's manual. Many newer cars go a long time between spark plug changes. If the car runs rough or the check engine light comes on before then, bring it in and we'll find out why.
What's the difference between normal and severe service?
Severe service usually covers short trips, lots of stop-and-go driving, heat, towing and dusty roads. A lot of daily driving around Metairie fits that description, so some items may come due sooner.
Can you tell me what's due at my mileage?
Yes. Call (504) 780-9804 with your year, make, model and mileage, or bring the car by, and we'll go over the schedule with you.
