Car A/C Repair in Metairie

In Metairie heat, a weak A/C isn't a small problem. We find the leak or the failed part instead of just adding refrigerant and sending you on your way.

Signs your A/C needs work

  • Air blows warm, or only cold while you're driving and warm at red lights
  • Weak airflow from the vents even on high
  • A musty or sour smell when the A/C comes on
  • Clicking, rattling or squealing when the A/C is turned on
  • Water on the passenger floor
  • One side of the car blows colder than the other

What we check

An A/C system is sealed. If it's low on refrigerant, it's leaking somewhere. We check pressures, look for leaks, and test the compressor and clutch, the condenser and cooling fans, and the controls and blend doors behind the dash. We'll also check the cabin air filter, since a clogged one can make a good system feel weak.

Recharge or repair?

A recharge alone can get you some cold air, but if there's a leak it won't last, and you'll be back where you started. When we find the cause, we'll explain it and what it takes to fix it, so you can decide. If a recharge really is all it needs, we'll tell you that too.

Before you call

Tell us when it's warm (all the time, at idle, or after driving a while), whether the airflow is weak, and if you hear or smell anything new. Those details help us narrow it down. Call (504) 780-9804 or book online, and bring it by our shop at 4725 Utica Street in Metairie.

We work on A/C systems in cars, trucks and SUVs, foreign and domestic, for drivers in Metairie, Kenner and around Jefferson Parish.

Questions we get

Why is my car A/C blowing warm air?

The most common causes are a refrigerant leak, a failing compressor or compressor clutch, a bad condenser fan, or an electrical problem in the controls. We test to find out which one it is.

Can you just recharge it?

We can, but if the system is low it's leaking, and the refrigerant will leak out again. We'd rather find the leak so you're not paying for the same fix twice.

Why does my A/C smell bad?

A musty smell often comes from moisture and buildup on the evaporator or a dirty cabin air filter. Tell us about it when you book and we'll take a look.
